December’s updates focus on real-time accessibility, in-class continuity, and distraction-free classroom control, bringing smarter AI assistance to the flow of live instruction.

AI Captioning & Live Translation (NEW!)

Bringing Every Voice to Every Learner, Instantly.

This month’s biggest release transforms the live classroom experience:

AI Captioning & Live Translation delivers real-time subtitles for any unmuted speaker, with automatic translation into each user’s preferred HiLink system language.

Whether it's a multilingual lecture, a global seminar, or a class where accessibility matters, every participant can now follow along effortlessly, reading captions in the original language or in a translated version tailored just for them.

Key Highlights：

Automatic speech detection for all unmuted speakers
Primary language auto-detection with fallback across all HiLink-supported languages
Clear sentence-by-sentence captions with speaker labels
Live translation synced to each participant’s system language
Host controls for session-wide captioning, plus individual user controls

Why It Matters

For students learning in a second language, participants with hearing impairments, or anyone joining from a noisy environment, real-time captions dramatically improve comprehension and confidence.

For institutions, this feature unlocks inclusive, global-ready learning at scale.

Available to all HiLink clients. Translation features are included for Pro plan institutions and above.

In-Class Recap Summary

Stay on Track, Even If You Join Late

Live classes move quickly, and students lose context just as quickly when they join late or reconnect after technical hiccups.

The In-Class Recap Summary solves this by generating AI-powered summaries every 5 minutes (frequent enough to stay updated without overwhelming), based on the live transcript.

These bite-sized insights help students catch up instantly without needing to interrupt the teacher. Teachers benefit from fewer repeat questions, maintaining a smoother flow of instruction.

Waiting Room Management (New Layout)

Join Requests Without Interruptions

The Waiting Room now fits naturally into the flow of teaching:

Instead of a disruptive popup, join requests appear discreetly inside the People panel.

Teachers can continue teaching uninterrupted and admit students only when the moment is right.

Key Highlights：

Non-intrusive alerts inside the People tab
Debounced notification sounds to avoid noise spam
Requests sorted by join time
Allows hosts to delay or batch approvals without disrupting the lesson

Available for all organizations using the Waiting Room feature.
